Save the remaining toothpaste in the tube...

One of my favorite frugal tips came from my mother-in-law. Most of us keep searching for the best way to squeeze out the remaining toothpaste from a tube, buying fancy thingamajings to help, with little or no success, at best squeezing out another inch or two.

My mother-in-law's technique was so simple and straightforward, I wondered why I didn't think of it immediately!

All you need is a pair of sharp scissors. After you have squeezed out what seems to be the last remaining toothpaste in the tube, try to cut up the tube as in the picture... (Click on the picture for a larger version).

There's still enough toothpaste in both cut up ends for AT LEAST 5 brushings! Since we only use pea sized amounts, that translates into even more brushings!

It's a very good tip. One of those "Why didn't I think of this before" tips. :)
