Standby Generators?

Whether or not to get standby generators really depends on your needs. If you have a business that is heavily dependent upon a continuous supply of electricity, it may be wise to invest in a generator. This includes hospitals (who have life support equipment which run on electricity), factories with production lines, etc. For the home, it depends on what risks you can take if an outage occurs. 2 years ago, Typhoon Milenyo rendered Metro Manila electricity-less for about 2-3 days. That means a lot of spoiled food and inadequate lighting during this time. But, such a long outage does not happen all the time. Bottomline is, you have to decide if this is a wise move for you, given your own situation.
