I love books! Give me a book and a movie, and I'd rather choose the book. I'd bring a book even on long trips so that I have something to pass the time while waiting for the plane to land.
However, books can be expensive. Not to mention that they do take a lot of space. There are some bookstores selling second hand books. Big bookstores also hold regular cut price sales. There's also online shopping for books, both old and pre-owned.
Another resource for cheap books is ebay or other auction sites, as some people would dispose of their books after they've read them, as not to add to the clutter. You can also do that--sell off the books you no longer want, so you'll have more bookspace!
