Breastfeeding Makes You Lose Weight!

During my first pregnancy, I gained a total of 30 pounds during my entire pregnancy. I actually lost the majority (about 20 pounds) of those extra poundage as soon as I gave birth. The remaining 10 pounds were lost after about 3 months without me resorting to any diet, exercise or even any weight loss product! In fact I was eating more than I did when I was pregnant since I was constantly hungry. My secret? Breastfeeding! I did exclusive breastfeeding for 6 months then started added solids after that. After my baby turned 1 we also supplemented with soy milk (since he was allergic to cow's milk -- thank goodness he eventually outgrew it) and kept breastfeeding till 1 year 10 months. Not only is breastfeeding healthy, it also is economical...with benefits for mommy too!
