I'm somewhat in the thick of preparations for my baby R's baptism and E's 4th birthday. Somewhat because I'm not as OC as other moms are. I just need a place where we can have our reception. No frills, just good food and talking between friends. I'll reserve the big bash for the first birthday celebration next year.
Since I'm not looking at an elaborate affair, I'd go for a restaurant rather than get a venue and catering, so that there would be less work involved. Less costs, less worries (equals less wrinkles so no need to look for the best wrinkle creams). In fact, the church (Christ The King) I chose has less requirements (no seminars) and less cost than others.
Bottomline is: I want my baby baptized, I want a double celebration for the Christening and my eldest's birthday and that's what I'm going to get. Within my budget.
