Overseas Employment And The Family

There is a widespread perception that foreign work pays more. It is true, most of the time. But there are always trade-offs. If you're a family man/woman, you will be away from your family for months or even years at a time. And that is something that you should consider. After all, there are a lot of things that money truly cannot buy, like the presence of both parents while a child is growing up.

Some families have decided to stay together even if it means moving to another country altogether. That is also an option. But as usual, there are also trade-offs. For starters, you have to leave your friends and the rest of your family behind. You have to adjust to a new place. You have to decide what stuff to bring, and what stuff to leave behind, as it's virtually impossible to bring everything, even if you have good long distance movers. You have to look for good schools for your children too.

In the end, I would rather have my family together, whether we stay in the country or leave.
