Alternative Relief

Yesterday, my colleague and I were discussing about alternative therapies for most of the common symptoms that we see in the clinic and which are not totally helped by conventional therapy. For example, we often prescribe pain relievers as migraine treatments but there are studies suggesting that there may be some deficiencies in magnesium that might trigger migraine headaches. We agreed that as long as we don't cause any harm, we could try incorporating supplements into our treatment plan. Anyway, we can always stop it when we think it's not helping at all.

Just goes to show that there are always other alternatives out there and that we should be open minded about it.
