Do You Really Need It?

The reason why I haven't jumped on the IPod/Blackberry or other so-called smartphone bandwagon while many others are is because I really do not want to spend for additioanl features that I do not need yet. I'm still pretty happy with my current phone, so unless it starts giving me problems, I have no intention yet to change/upgrade it. Now, on the other hand, I can see why busy people like my uncle may need a gadget like that!

That's why for my micro micro backyard online business venture, I do manual receipting instead of getting a POS system with a tm-t88iv receipt printer. I just don't need it right now. Maybe (wishful thinking) if my business were so big and busy I just might think of buying it, but getting it at this startup stage is just too impractical.

I used to feel the same way. Then a friend of mine had a Palm Treo and sold it to me for a ridiculously low price. That was 5 years ago. I haven't used anything but a smartphone since. You'll be surprised what you use if you have it. Sadly, my phone runs my life. It keep appts for 3 kids and me, hold all my music, has a GPS, contains my resume in case I ever need it in a pinch. I can't name all that it does. Good luck with your business (oh, you can write it off as a business expense if you use it for that purpose).
