After giving birth

The first time we became parents, it was to a baby boy. Although we didn't pass around any romeo y julieta cigars, we did become very excited and sent text messages to our friends and relatives to announce the birth of our firstborn.

When it was our daughter's turn to be born, we waited until we were home.

I think that was actually better because we had time to rest and somewhat recover before the visitors came calling. Except that we didn't really have that many visitors the second time around. Maybe people prefer visiting in the hospital? Whatever the reason, I do believe that giving adequate time for rest and recovery before facing other people is a great idea. If I get blessed with another child, I'd probably do the same thing.

Yes, it is best to give it a few days before company comes over. It allows you and your spouse to relax and enjoy the new baby yourselves.
