Choose a career you'd love

I've always told younger relatives not to take courses just because it was the "in" thing but to take it because it's something you can imagine doing for the rest of their lives. Sure, there was a time that information technology degrees were the hot courses, as there was a great demand for it. Then the nursing courses. But when everyone else scrambled to get these degrees, there came a point when there were too many graduates of the said degrees and not everybody could go abroad or get a high paying job. Now if you love the course that you have taken, it probably would still be okay because you would NOT be stuck with a degree that you don't like and can't earn from.

This is not to say that you shouldn't take those courses, just that you don't take courses just because there are a lot of demand for it right now, because you're not sure what happens in the future.
